Project Description

 
The aim of this project is to extend the ability to react to demand fluctuation in the manufacturing planning and control (mpc) system based on Reconfigurable Machine tool (RMT), which is one of innovative and promising equipments in the future of manufacturing and designed to adjust capacity and functionality quickly and effectively to response to demand requirements. The target group of this research are manufacturing and logistics companies with a high percentage of parallel machines, which is a characteristics of job-shop manufacturing. Hence, the manufacturing process with RMTs shall be modelled firstly and relevant control strategies will be adopted to integrate dynamics, constrains and key performance indicators. Particularly, Model Predictive Controller (MPC) is satisfied with these relationships and employed in this project. Additionally, the parameters of the designed close-loop system will be analyzed and finally a robust nonlinear control system shall be established. The companies are able to benefit from the use of Reconfigurable Machine Tools and corresponding control strategies.
